Nephthys is the goddess of protection and Set's former wife.

History[]

At one point she was married to Set but she never beared his children due to Ra cursing him with infertility, which Nephthys revealed was probably due to his violent and power hungry nature.

Set's war[]

During Horus' coronation, Set escapes the underworld and kills his brother Osiris. Nephthys begs Horus not to engage in a battle, preferring to wait and calculate a plan instead but he ignores her wishes and a battle ensures. She uses her large wings to shield her sister (and Osiris' wife) Isis from the chaos as she grieves her dead husband.

After Horus was thrown to exile, gods who stood in Set's way were killed or presumably enslaved except a few who managed to evade him. Set eventually confronts his former wife after destroying her kingdom, she tries using her wings to fly away but Set grabs on to them and throws her to the ground. He cuts off her wings as she screams in pain and kills her.

After Set was defeated, Ra resurrected those who were killed by Set, including Nephthys and she is shown presenting Horus his crown at his coronation.

Powers[]

  • Transformation- Nephthys has shown to have multi colored angel wings as a result of her true god form.
    • Flight- With her wings she can fly.
      • Wing Barriers - With her wings she can give other gods or mortals protection.

Weaknesses[]

  • Power limitation - She's unable to protect herself from her enemies, only others including gods or mortals. Nephthys' wings can be cut off by other gods and once they're cut off they turn into metallic gold objects (shown when Set cut off her wings).
